St. Clair’s 26-bed Psychiatry and Mental Health inpatient unit provides care for adults in the acute phase of their illness. The team works with each patient to create a personalized plan that can include medical and psychosocial treatment interventions, such as medication management and group therapy. St. Clair's Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) programs are designed to provide an alternative to inpatient treatment for adults with acute psychiatric illness. In addition to regular appointments with a psychiatrist, both programs offer a group approach to treatment, including psychotherapy, expressive therapy, and group therapy focusing on problem solving, relapse prevention, assertiveness training, community living, lifestyle skills, medication education and stress management.
