i applied to this program in the beginning of January. My land lord took me to court. i just got an interview today. 2/27/13 and was told that my income was to low and was denied help. So this progam is a joke to me. it seems that they would rather help me to become homeless than to assist me in rental assistance.
Unbelieveable

Well ive been trying to get rental assistance from Urban League since August 2010, i had the appointments was eligable but was told they ran out of money. Was told to write Obama and ask for help. I was taken to court, lost my place and was homeless. Section 8 came thru for me now i need security deposit. Section 8 pointed me to Urban League once again i cant get a hold of anyone, needed the money beginning of july, still no contact the landlord gave me til sept. to come up with the money. Again im worried that they may run out of money and its deja vue all over again. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Same here..

LIKE YOU, I PUT IN AN APP IN AUGUST 2010, WENT THROUGH THE PROCEDURES TWICE OF HANDING IN OAPERWORK, FILING OUR RHE FORM TWICE, GOING THERE TO GET A NUMBER AT 6 AM, IN THE COLD, AND WAS STILL TOLD, FUNDS WERE UNAVAILABLE. IM ON THE VERGE OF BEING HOMELESS WITH MY 14 Y/O SON AND SHELTERS, YEAH RIGHT, MY BABY IS TOOOO OLD. I LIVE IN A HOUSE, BUT, IF I LIVED IN SUBSIDIZED HOUSING, THEYD HELP BECAUSE ITS CHEAPER. NOW, I KNOW PPL USE THE SYSTEM, I AM NOT ONE OF THOSE PPL. I THANK YOU FOR THIS INFO. IM GOING TO WRITE OBAMA AS WELL. THE UL, JOKE. I COULD SIT BEHIND A DESK EAT CHIPS, POP GUM, LOOK GHETTO, AND TALK TO PPL LIKE IM BETTER THAN THEM, AND THEY LIVE IN PUBLIC HOUSING WHERE TAXES IVE PAID, HAS HELPED THEM.... WELLLLLLLL, HELP ME PLEASE. YOU CANT, NO MORE FUNDING. WOOOOOOOOOW.
