Sanders appointed to state Mental Health and Disability Services Commission

Gov. Kim Reynolds appointed Board of Supervisors Chairman Rick Sanders to the Mental Health and Disability Services Commission.

Authorized by Section 225C.5 of the Code of Iowa, the Commission is the state policy-making body for the provision of services to persons with mental illness, intellectual disabilities or other developmental disabilities, or brain injury. Members are appointed by the governor, with confirmation by a two-thirds vote of the Senate. Sanders commented he is "honored to have been selected by Gov. Reynolds to assist in strengthening Iowa's mental health and disability programs and services."

Sanders term begins May 1.
